CeraSport is proud to have sponsored the 2009 Army Championship Combatives Tournament, which took place in Fort Benning, GA from September 17th to September 20th.

"Our products are used by all branches of the US military to prevent and correct dehydration, so it was a perfect fit for us to get involved with the tournament. The event is extremely strenuous so there is a real need for an advanced hydration solution. We feel honored to help the troops" Jennifer Rapp, Sales & Marketing, CeraSport.

The Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP) started in 1995 within the 2nd Ranger Battalion. Combining the best of several different forms of martial arts, the Rangers settled on a program based upon jiu-jitsu, with elements of judo, wrestling, boxing and kickboxing. MACP has since been incorporated into the new field manual 3-25.150 and is now taught at the entry level to all new soldiers.

The Modern Army Combatives program leverages competitive motivation to advance soldiers to high levels of proficiency in hand-to-hand combat. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Peter Schoomaker feels it is important for soldiers to experience the physical and emotional demands of hand-to-hand fighting prior to engaging in combat. For more information, call the school at (706) 545-2811 or go online to https://www.infantry.army.mil
